The Council of the Children’s Advocacy Center of Sullivan County will be hosting a FREE virtual lunch-and-learn on March 1 from 12-1:30PM with Dr. Tim Perry, LPC, MHSP, and Senior Vice President of Tennessee Children’s Services. Tim Perry is a Licensed Professional Counselor with Mental Health Service Provider status and a Board Certified Clinical supervisor. Tim has a doctorate of Theology and a Masters in counseling. Tim has been in the field of mental health services for children for more than 26 years and has worked as a therapist, case manager, clinical supervisor, teacher, and consultant. He is a Nationally Certified Domestic Violence and Forensic Specialist. He is the Sr. Vice President for Children and Youth Services with Frontier Health and the Clinical Coordinator of Trauma Services for children. Tim was named one of Northeast Tennessee’s Health Care Hero’s in 2007, and was appointed by Gov. Phil Bredesen to the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth from 2008 through 2011. In 2010 Tim was voted as the region 1 child advocate of the year for Northeast Tennessee by the Tennessee Commission on Children and Youth, and was the recipient of the Jim Pryor Award for the state of Tennessee as the Child Advocate of the Year in 2011. Tim served on the Tennessee State Certification Board for the state of Tennessee from 2012-2016. He currently serves on the Executive Planning Council for the Tennessee Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and as Chair for the Region 1 Planning and Policy Council for the Department. Tim also serves on the Tennessee Association of Mental Health Organizations children and youth sub-committee and the addictions sub-committee. Tim has been recognized nationally as one of the leading experts on behavioral health for children. He has presented workshops on “Bullying”, “Suicide Prevention”, “Domestic Violence”, “The negative effects of technology on young brain development”, and “Critical Incident Stress Management”.
